Americans In Berlin - Nov. 9 Cinderella IssueThe author and artist T.H.E. Hill has designed a Cinderella stamp issue to commemorate 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, and the presence of American Armed Forces which held up freedom in West Berlin during the cold war. The stamps will be presented in a ceremony at the Allied Forces Museum in Zehlendorf, Berlin. Please click here for more details and an image of the stamp sheet! Since yourstamps is also located in Berlin, the printer also plans to be present at the ceremony on November 9th, 2009, 2pm (probably, please check)! ![]() The Federation of Musograd is the "home" micronation of Yourstamps. All stamps created by yourstamps as demonstration samples and to test new stamp formats and techniques are issued as "FM" stamps. Musograd is a beautiful but poor micronation, torn by political strife and civil wars. Its rich philatelic history and its current issues will be made available through the Musogradian web site soon. Website: www.isleofrona.com/stamps.htm A nest of artists creating, amongst other objects, Artistamps of artistic as well as political significane. James Cauty founded the Cautese National Postal Disservice and has designed quite a number of very interesting stamps. You can find them at the Aquarium Gallery in London (if you can find the gallery, it is said to be well hidden in a small road) or through their website. Don't miss out the Friends of the C.N.P.D. page, where several other Artistamp artists exhibit their works! And not to forget the Scorpion Thunderbolt Deliverance Incorporated... ![]() Inspired equally by Mrs Thatcher (on the negative side) and Mr Cauty (on the positive side), Misteraitch has created several series of quite political stamps. Have a look at his very stampish Artistamps website! Website: http://www.misteraitch.co.uk Berlin seems to be the second artistamp hotspot in Europe, after London. Yourstamps has been happy to make acquaintance with a renowned Berlin artistamps artist, Uwe Bressem, who is also regularly organizing artistamp exhibitions. Using his own perforating equipment, he issues beautifully designed stamps focussing on local themes. Check out his website, where you also can purchase some of them. As an illustrator, he might also be able to help you designing your stamps! In 2007, the exhibition "Mailart Wedding 2007" (Wedding, the city district of Berlin, has nothing to do with marriage...) will take place again, with the subject "Moral Courage". Website: http://www.uwebressem.com ![]() Artistamps and Mail Art can not only be found in the large countries of Europe - one of the smallest ones, Luxembourg, is the home of the artistamps artist Fraenz Frisch. His style is less politically charged than the ones of most British artistamp artists and varies from modern to nostalgic. In addition to his artistamps and mail art postcards, you will find a world wide List of Mail Art artists on his web site. Website: www.mailart.lu
![]() Even Micronations experience secessionism... in 2006, the Republic of Capricornia declared its indepence from the Federation of Musograd, caused mostly by Musograds lack of dedication to its declared Australia policy. Capricornia has since issued a small number of stamps with a modernist design, which are all on display on the Capricornia Post web site.
Website: http://www.capricornia.eu Nothing to do with stamps, youraustralia.eu is a project of mine containing views and travel tips from almost all parts of Australia. All 360+ photos there are under CreativeCommons license - you can use them freely as material if you would like to create stamps with Australian motives!
